About Heather Maclennan

I was born and raised in the Beaverdale area of Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Hoover High School. I couldn’t afford my preferred college, so I was working full time professionally at the age of 18, and bought my first home in the Valley Junction area of West Des Moines when I was 21.

While I come from a 20+ year professional background in Financial Services Compliance and Technology Systems, I also have an extensive 30+ year personal background of numerous DIY projects, like tiling, drywall, finish woodworking, being an Electrician’s apprentice, and landscaping/hardscaping. These skills were developed and honed while raising my daughter as a single mom. I’ve always had an eye for interior decorating and seeing the potential in any home, and I have a passion for making a house a “home”.

Now, as part of Summer and Markjon’s team, I get to help others make their home journey a reality by bringing expertise, knowledge, authenticity and professionalism into the entire process, and have some fun along the way!
